Chef Annie Payton
Annie Payton, CPCE, has won 19 awards for her catering and special events, five on the national level from the National Association of Catering Executives, and 14 on the local level in the Las Vegas and Henderson communities. The most recent accolade is from the Best of Henderson for 2020 in the field of Caterers. Annie Payton has been named one of Nevada's Distinguished Women for her success in the catering and restaurant world, as well as her devout presence in the community for which she serves.
Chef Annie was featured on Fox Five Las Vegas live with Ted Pretty. One of her weddings at Lake Las Vegas was showcased in Elegant Bride Magazine. She and her Labrador retriever, Ookie, were spotlighted in the David Magazine. Numerous articles have been written about her previous restaurants, most notably an A rating from The Las Vegas Review Journal food critic Heidi Knapp Rinella. Annie's restaurant was selected as one of the top 20 in the state of Nevada, and her stuffed mushrooms were hailed as the city's best in an Eater Magazine article written by popular editor Scott Dickensheets. Channel 8 viewers voted Annie's The Most Romantic Restaurant in the city.
Annie's specialty is, of course, old world Italian food that was made in her two restaurants, but more importantly, derived from family recipes dating back several generations. Her mother, Connie, known as Grandma Cungie to most, cooked by her side for many years . Connie's influence, along with Grandma Ann, and Annie's aunts, have instilled old fashioned, hard working values and high standards that set Annie's Gourmet apart from the rest.
Don't think Italian is all she createse though... Chef Annie's flare for creating exquisite menus and presentations based on any theme, culture, and style, have created a legacy and following like no other.
Just ask her loyal clientele...
